Just take a look at the precision machining on the corners Their rounded back edge reduces surface friction and is designed to keep the canvas ½" from the stretcher bar. This feature helps insure that there will be no ghost impressions on the canvas. Stretcher bars are made from kiln-dried, knot free, straight white pine. Note — Price is per pair not per strip like some of our competitors Supports — Cross braces are made with the same quality and care as stretcher bars. Workout the size of your canvas and select another 2 stretcher bars to make up the frame and don't forget to include the thickness on both sides, if wrapping your canvas all round. The ends of each stretcher bar are machined with grooves and secured with wedges ( 2 included in the price ) to provide a tight fit. Support bars recommended for frames 70cm and over, the whole frame can be disassembled if need be.
